Horse Profiles
by David Peat
Horse profiles by David Peat is not a system as such but is a must for any
serious horse racing enthusiasts. His professionally written e-book contains
in-depth profiles of over 150 horses.
Each profile breaks down a horse's full career record to look for profitable
patterns. Preferences can include the need for one or more of the following; a
particular going or distance, a small or large field, a certain class of race,
or for a right-handed or left-handed track.
I purchased the National Hunt book some months ago and used it with great
success during the Cheltenham festival this year as it helped me find winners
such as Ballyfitz at 18/1, Tiger Cry at 15/2 and Albertas Run at 9/2.
I also use the profiles to determine when NOT to bet on certain horses.
Let me give you an example in a recent race at Wolverhampton of why looking at a
horses profile is so important. I actually fancied a horse called Gallantry to
win the race and I was not alone as 7 newspaper tipsters also tipped the horse
to win. When I looked closer at the horses profile it was clear to see that
Gallantry wasn’t the good thing I first thought. His bare form figures read
16-222 but his profile told a different story as follows:
The race in question was a class 2 and the horses profile clearly showed that in
class 2 races his record was 0 wins in 11 attempts. This was enough to put me
off his chances and he duly finished unplaced at odds of 3/1.
David goes a lot more in-depth than I did in the example above but hopefully you
can see exactly how useful looking at a horses profile is.
David has just published his horse profiles for the 2008 Flat season and having
purchased this myself I highly recommend it.
At only £13.99 it is outstanding value for the content contained within.
David also runs an email service where he send out his diary twice weekly.
The diary is published on a Wednesday (Covering races held on the Sunday to
Tuesday) and on Sunday (Covering races held on Wednesday to Saturday).
The aim of the diary is to keep subscribers up to date on how horses from the
Profiling books are running as well as uncovering NEW profiled horses.
I also find this invaluable in my own personal mission to stay ahead of the
bookmakers.
If you wish to sample David's work you can visit his
blog where he
provides free profiles and selections on selected class 2 races.
Score: 4/5 - definitely worth paying money
for and in my opinion a long term winner.
