Four Point Formula – Final Review
I have been testing this Laying system for 2 weeks starting October 29th and finishing on the 11th November and overall I can give it a thumb’s up because it ended the trial in profit. So what do you get for your money?? well its only a 14 page book in the usual PDF format and there is no extra filling about backing on Betfair etc, the author has just printed a link on the first page for this. The author does not waste anytime and goes straight in to the system which is only 4 steps and I used the Racing Post to get the prices, he says you can use either this or any other newspaper that has a racing column.
So the system is covered in the first page and the remaining thirteen pages show all the authors results from 1st January to October 17th, these are listed below:
725 selections with 606 winning bets with a Strike Rate of 83.5%
The author claims a profit of 160.09 points profit since January 1st 2009
So what happened during the trial? well the first bet was a losing one winning at BSP3.61 but after this there was winning streak (losers) of 8 selections so that covered the first hiccup. Overall it only took me around 10 to 15 minutes to find the selections for the day, but the only thing and this is an issue I have with this system, there is no mention of what to do in the event of non- runners.
The method only applies to races with 14 or more runners, and certainly the strike rate would have been less if we used the reduced fields. Admin did try to contact the author about the non runners but as far as I aware they did not receive a reply, as all the results in the book show 14 or more runners then we will have to assume that we ignore races of less than 14, so this would make it difficult for some as they would need to be near a computer near off time to confirm the size of the field.
During the trial we had 28 selections with just 4 losers this is a strike rate of 85.71% so this compares favorably with the stats quoted in the PDF manual. All in all you would have made a profit of 9.75 points in the 2 weeks and this included 5 days when there was no selections. Other concerns are that the system would require a reasonable betting bank because at times there is a lot of selections and also some of the Betfair prices are high on these. Luckily during the trial the average price of the winners (Losers for us layers) was only 4.26, the overall price of selections was 6.77.
To sum up Four Point Formula is simple to use and selections could be found in the morning but due to the problem with non runners you still need to monitor your selected races just to check on any absences.
Rating 3/5 It did make a profit, is easy to operate and would recommend this system based on the testing.
