Horse Betting King – Final Review
Horse Betting King is a system which selects on average 3 horses per day to lay at between 5-1 to 10-1 and returns on average 29 points per month.
From Horse Betting King you get a 22 page eBook. The first sections give an introduction to odds, laying, Betfair, accessing the Racing Post online and reading a Racing Post race card. The next section describes the Horse Betting King system for selecting horses to lay with an example. The last section suggests a staking plan.
The webpage claims that daily selections can be done in 5 minutes, which, with some practice, is true. The instructions for selecting horses is clear and all users of this system will select the same horses.
The Horse Betting King has clearly been created by back-fitting to an undisclosed number of race results. The parameters the system uses for determining a selection do not include those which are widely recognised as being significant and instead uses ones which, statistics aside, it is difficult to construct an argument for.
An accompanying spreadsheet details the selections made using this system over the last 20 months, the prices of these selections and the results. This spreadsheet claims that the system generates on average, approximately 115 selections per month, an average profit of 29 points per month with long winning runs of up to 79 selections and a worse loosing run of 2 selections with 18 out of 20 profitable months. Closer examination of these results shows that they are quoted using Betfair lay prices often much longer than the SP, showing that these results are achievable.All cross checking of these results have shown them to be correct.
I would feel more comfortable with this system and these results if I knew that the selections were produced by the system rather than the system produced from these results. Attempts to contact the authors for confirmation of this have been unsuccessful.
I have evaluated this system on paper for 18 days. The system produced 45 selections in this time with only 3 loosing bets making 19.5 points on SP or approximately 15 points on Betfair. The system is easy to use and the selections can done in 5 minutes by someone used to reading race cards.
In conclusion, I don’t like back-fitted systems however my findings so far have lead me to believe that this one shows potential. I would be more confident about this system if I was able to argue as to why the parameters this system uses are significant and if I was able to contact the authors to confirm that the results they have published were generated by the system rather than the other way round.
