Dodgy Favourites – Final Review
The idea of the Dodgy Favourites system is to find forecast favourites in the racing post that look to have an obvious chance of winning. You then go against the crowd and actually lay the selections which in theory should be value lays.
Dodgy Favourites is extremely simple to operate and selections can be found before racing takes place as access to live betting is not required. All that is required is access to the racing post website which is free to use or you can also use the paper version if you prefer.
Paul will also email daily selections to you for the first month and longer if you wish for a small fee. It is far easier to let Paul Fowlie do the work for you and he will generally send you the selections around 8 am. each morning.
The system states that no lays should be placed on horses with an official starting price above 7/1 so any horses that did were omitted from my results
I used the selections Paul sent and from the 1st January 2009 until the 10th April 2009 inclusive there were 44/76 Successful Lay Bets advised.
Laying each selection using a £10 stake at Betfair SP and deducting 5% commission from successful lays made an overall Loss of: – £192.27
My results were a long way off the results claimed on the website. A strike rate of 58% and a loss of almost 20 points was not what I was expecting.
I decided to check out a few other reviews online from reputable websites and there results were mixed to be honest. Looking at the full picture and combining my results with the other two review sites the system made a very small loss overall and the strike rate was way below the author’s claims of 77% winning Lay bets.
Rating: 2/5 – The system may have some merit but in my opinion it is not reliable enough to use in the long-run and is one to avoid.
