October 14, 2009 – 1:07 PM | Comments Off

This is and will be one of the easiest reviews I have done.  16 points profit on a lay system with 2 to 3 qalifyers a day, normally one final selection and 3 losing …

The Simple System – Final Review

Submitted by admin on March 23, 2009 – 9:36 PMNo Comment

Website ClosedAs the name suggests this really is the simplest system I have encountered to date. There is no form study or past data to trawl through whatsoever. The system is based around backing the favourite in 3 easily identified races each day using a very simple stop at a winner staking plan.

Although the system is the easiest I have encountered to date the sales page is also the most misleading. A losing day on the site just goes down as a losing day which is very misleading as you actually lose 9 points.

When a winner is a joint favourite they do not state this. This again would result in profits for that day being half of what they state or even less if there were co-favs.

Being placed is also entirely irrelevant and means a loss of 9 points on the day.

Let me show you an example of 7 day’s results during October. The results page on the website lists the results exactly as follows:

13th Oct BRANDANE Won 7/1 Kempton.
14th Oct BRAVE ECHO Won 2/1. Leicester.
15th Oct TARABLAZE Won 2/1 Uttoxeter.
16th Oct UNION ISLAND 2nd 9/4 Nottingham.
17th Oct RUN FOR THE HILLS Won 13/8 Newmarket.
18th Oct JAFRA Won 10/3 Catterick.
19th Oct LOST

At first glance the results look excellent with 5 winners from 7 bets at decent prices. Let me break this down for you showing you the actual profit/loss figures each day.

13th Oct – BRANDANE won in the 1st race and was a Joint Fav so a profit of 3 points was made on the day overall.
14th Oct – BRAVE ECHO won in the 1st race so a profit of 2 points was made on the day overall.
15th Oct – TARABLAZE won in the 2nd race so a profit of 5 points was made on the day overall.
16th Oct – UNION ISLAND was only placed so a loss of 9 points was shown on the day overall.
17th Oct – RUN FOR THE HILLS won in the 1st race so a profit of 1.62 points was made on the day overall.
18th Oct – JAFRA won in the 1st race so a profit of 3.33 points was made on the day overall.
19th Oct – A loss of 9 points was shown on the day overall.

A total loss of 3.05 points was shown over the above 7 days which tells a totally different story to those results published doesn’t it?

So does the system make long term profits?

From January the 1st 2008 to October the 31st 2008 inclusive the simple system has produced a profit of 115 points overall.

Although 115 points looks like a very good profit at first glance remember that you can stake as much as 9 points in a single day making the return on investment very low indeed. Maybe this is the reason for the false accounting on the sales page?

A long term profit was made however and the figures could undoubtedly be enhanced on Betfair.

Rating: 3/5 – Worth buying and you can expect to win a steady amount of money when used correctly.
