Secrets of a Professional Betfair Trader – Final Review

Submitted by admin on March 22, 2009 – 9:24 PMNo Comment

Website ClosedSecrets of a Professional Betfair Trader or SOAPBT as it is better known is the latest trading manual to hit the market. I was sceptical at first as almost all the trading manuals on the internet use outdated methods that are usually found for free online if you search hard enough.

The manual is split into 3 separate books as follows:

Book 1. Introduction, and how to be a professional trader.

Contents:

Introduction
Part 1. Betfair Basics
Part 2. Advanced Betfair Concepts
Part 3. How to Trade On Betfair

Summary:

Book 1 provides beginners with an excellent introduction to the world of betting exchanges and how you can profit from them. Even the more advanced traders can gain further knowledge from this section in my opinion. Not only does it show you how the markets work but you will also learn why? I would not suggest skipping this section as it contains the all important fundamentals needed to ensure your trading is successful.

Book 2. Horse Racing Trading.

Contents:

Introduction
Part 1. Horse Racing Market Behaviour
Part 2. Trading Before The Off
Part 3. Trading In-Play

Summary:

Book 2 teaches you the knowledge needed to make money from trading on horse racing. There’s a lot more to it then telling you to back at one price and lay at another like most manuals advise. The big difference with this manual is that you are actually shown methods to use with easy to follow rules.

The first is a method which shows you which horses to back in the build up to a race that are then expected to shorten in price. This is not 100% mechanical and a little judgement is required on the users behalf. I have used this method on many occasions’ with great success when putting it to the test and was pleased with the overall results and profits made.

The second method is actually a method I have used before with mixed results. What you do is lay every horse in a race during running at odds on. As long as two or more are matched you are guaranteed a profit whichever horse wins the race. When I used it before I used to just try and guess which races to use hence the mixed results. The manual however lists certain races and certain racecourses which the method works best with making it 100% mechanical. I again put the method to the test and was pleased with the overall results and profits made.

You will of course have losing trades with both methods but use them long term and in my opinion you will profit if used correctly.

Book 3. Soccer Trading.

Book 3 teaches you the knowledge needed to make money from trading on soccer matches. Again, there’s a lot more to it than telling you to simply back at one price and lay at another.

As with the horse racing book you are actually shown easy to use methods with easy to follow rules and once again there are pre-match methods and In-Play methods included.

I agree with the authors that the pre-match methods will make you a little money, more often with minimal risk and that the In-Play methods will make you more money, less often with more risk.

Summary:

Overall I was very pleased with SOAPBT and the methods contained within. I found it to be well written and very easy to understand with many screen shots included. There are lots of trading tips placed throughout as well which I found to be a very useful addition.

In my opinion the key to successful trading is knowledge and discipline. If you have the discipline then I am confident you can make long term profits using the methods contained within SOAPBT and the extra knowledge you will learn from reading it.

Rating 4/5 – Definitely worth paying money for and in my opinion a long term winner.
