This is and will be one of the easiest reviews I have done.  16 points profit on a lay system with 2 to 3 qalifyers a day, normally one final selection and 3 losing …

ATP Tennis System – Final Review

Submitted by admin on March 22, 2009 – 5:16 PMNo Comment

ATP Tennis SystemThe ATP (Advantage Tennis Punters) tennis system claims huge profits over the last five years so once again I was happy to pull it apart on behalf of punters to see if if the system was genuine or not.

The system itself is very simple and uncomplicated. Without giving the rules away you basically need to flag up all matches on the men’s ATP Tennis tour that have the ‘required’ odds for a player. Having selected your matches, you simply lay them (or back the other player if it is financially better to do so) using level stakes.

There is a staking plan included which suggests that every month you increase your stake by 50% of your initial stake. The published results are based upon laying every selection in January with a £100 stake, laying very selection in February with a £150 stake, laying every selection in March with a £200 stake and so on… October would mean laying every selection using a stake of £550 to achieve the profits shown. Consider the fact that you can have over 10 bets per day on occasions and it’s easy to see that a large betting bank is required before you begin using the system.

Even so it all sounds good so far.

I am afraid that’s where the good news ends as the results claimed are flawed for three reasons.

1. There are many losing bets omitted from the results.

2. The results calculated are based on the odds given by a certain bookmaker. We all know that you need to lay at much higher odds on Betfair so the losses on losing bets would be significantly higher.

3. There is no commission taken from winning lay bets.

Considering there are hundreds of bets each month these factor’s change the results significantly.

I went to tennis-data.co.uk, and downloaded tennis data for 2004 – 2008. With this data, it shows a wealth of match data and results, most importantly it details the players odds from the required bookmaker.

Looking at the data, I then filtered it to only include those matches where a players odds would have been between the given odds range. I then simply layed those players for £100. Naturally, I added 10% uplift for Betfair odds, and also applied a 5% commission to any wins.

The results of my data testing were quite horrifying.

Year Profit / Loss
2004 – £899.95
2005 – £2,347.00
2006 – £14,095.60
2007 + £48.20
2008 – £9,021.70

As you can see only 1 year made a profit and that was only £48.20!

The system sales page has the name Steve Davidson on it and I contacted him with my findings. He advised me that he sells systems for other people and put me in touch with the author who was also called Steve.

I put my above findings to the Author and I received the following reply:

“Thanks for that info. Ill look into it and get back to you, as I know a lot of people have been using system to good effect, so I will find out how they have been getting on too”.

From that answer it appears the author doesn’t use the system himself which is very odd considering it is supposed to be so profitable. If I was asked the same question I would be all out to prove the systems worth by showing proof of profits etc in the way of screen shots. I certainly wouldn’t need to ask others how there getting on.

The author also sells the system on eBay and someone also stated in there feedback that the results are flawed. There are some positive comments on eBay but these were left shortly after the buyer’s purchased the system and were no doubt based on the results found in the system or a few day’s decent results after receiving the system.

When you purchase the system you also receive a complimentary subscription to there pro tennis tipping service. Although it’s still early days the selections I have received to date have been profitable and I will do a separate review at a later date for this part of the service.

I do have a few niggles with this already though. The service provides WIN selections only and looking at the past results some of the selections advised to win would have actually been lay selections using the ATP system, a bit confusing I think your agree.

I have also noticed that the selections are being offered on different websites from as little as £25 a month yet they cost £95 for two months on the main sales page. I have been told that this is being sorted and will follow up in my review of the tipping service at a later date.

My conclusion is that the ATP system will not make profits long term. If anybody wishes to prove to me otherwise then I would love to hear from you. I am not holding my breath though….

Rating 1/5 – Very poor in my opinion. Not reliable enough to use in the long-run and one to avoid.
